Description: FBC Suffolk is an SBCV and SBC affiliated church located in the heart of downtown Suffolk, VA. We have a K-12 school and daycare. The church website is www.fbcsuffolk.org.

He is to be a man who is humble, “well thought of by outsiders” (1 Tim. 3:7), displays the fruits of the Spirit in his daily walk, and is a guardian of God’s truth (2 Tim. 1:14). His character is to resemble the qualifications described in Titus 1:5-8 and 1 Timothy 3:1-7.

He must be a man called by God to be a preacher (1 Cor. 12:28). His preaching must be expository, bold (Acts 4:29) and demonstrate a love and affinity for God’s word. He must “hold firm to the trustworthy word as taught, so that he may be able to give instruction in sound doctrine and also to rebuke those who contradict it” (Titus 1:9).

We are seeking a man with at least a graduate degree from a Southern Baptist seminary or one of equivalent theological training and status. His theology must align with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 and he must hold to the doctrine of Biblical Inerrancy as defined by The Chicago Statement on Biblical Inerrancy.

Description: To work with the Pastor and Ministry Team in developing, implementing, and regularly evaluating a comprehensive disciple-making process among our children. In addition to coordinating all of our preschool and children’s ministries, this Associate Pastor will equip parents for their task as the primary disciplers of their children. This will include the development of ministries and events to encourage healthy, happy, godly homes.

Description: As the Worship Pastor he will provide overall leadership, coordination and support for the Worship Choir, Senior Adult Choir, Women’s Ensemble, Men’s Ensemble, Children’s Choir, Praise Team, Praise band, pianist and audio/visual committee. The ultimate goal of this job function is to engage the congregation musically and spiritually in praise and worship.

As the Discipleship Pastor he will oversee a congregation wide systematic approach to discipleship and education with the purpose of fostering spiritual growth of PBC members. The ultimate goal will be to build an internal Christian community that is the body of the church and can effectively reach out into the community.

Requirements: A successful track record in leading various styles of worship, experience in developing small group Bible studies outside the church, experience in mentoring and training volunteers, good teambuilding and facilitation experience, good interpersonal and conflict management skills, experience in a Christian Pastoral position be an ordained pastor. Music, education or seminary degree and appropriate equivalent experience.
