On January 27, 2009 the Executive Board of the SBC of Virginia initiated the Vision 20/20 Team in order to "review the past, examine the present, and envision a preferred future for the SBC of Virginia that will bring our God glory." The Team presented its report to the state convention at the SBCV 2009 Annual Homecoming.

Vision 20/20 plan for Cooperative Program increase

At the SBCV 2009 Annual Homecoming, the member churches of the SBCV voted to approve the Vision 20/20 Report, a comprehensive vision for the next ten years of ministry, which included the proposal that by 2020, a full 52.5% of SBCV CP receipts would go on to SBC national and international missions.
