27 members serve with CCM in Nicaragua

Wallace and Kim spoke at our Global Impact Conference last November and shared how the Lord was using Chosen Children Ministries (CCM) to minister to the people of Nicaragua. As a result, 27 individuals were led to become a unified team to serve with CCM in Nicaragua the week of May 14th. What a blessing it was to serve with Wallace, Kim, Guillermo and his wonderful staff! God used the team to do construction work, door-to-door evangelism, a medical clinic, VBS for children and discipling of adults and teenagers.

As we arrived for the first day of ministry in the Marvin Salazar Barrio, we were warmly greeted by children and adults with smiling faces and hugs. We were blessed to not only serve in the Marvin Salazar Barrio, but in the orphanage and a nearby barrio. During the week in Nicaragua, we saw 76 individuals come to know Jesus as Savior and Lord, believers were encouraged and many seeds planted. Our Lord used the Medical Team to treat 300 people; the Construction Team to build a house, a bathroom, and bathroom with shower for Pastor Ervin; and minister to a large group of children each day through chronological bible story teaching, singing songs in Spanish, and games.

One of the many heart-touching events of the trip was when we visited the "Dump." We were so blessed as we witnessed these individuals who were so humble as Wallace shared God's love and plan of salvation. They removed their hats and stood in a reverent attitude as Wallace prayed for them. What an example for each of us! We had the privilege in ministering to the couple by feeding them and providing gift bags of toiletries. We all left changed by what we had experienced and by seeing the need for this ministry.

Many team members participated in door-to-door evangelism even though they were doing other ministries. Kenny Turner who was on the Construction Team went out one day with a team to do door-to-door evangelism and shared the Gospel with a man who prayed to receive Christ. Kenny asked the translator with the team if the man really understood what he had just done. Kenny received the answer to his question the next day when this man sought him out. He asked Kenny to show him the verses he had shared with him. Kenny and the translator underlined the verses in the Spanish Bible he had been given, and they turned the corner of the pages down so he could easily find them. When they asked why he wanted to know this, he shared that he had six brothers who did not know Jesus, and he wanted to share Jesus with his brothers.

Now we are back home with our families, but we are forever changed by our Lord as a result of what He showed us and let us experience. We so miss our brothers and sisters in Christ with CCM; the Nicaraguan people; the hugs and singing of the many children; and, of course, rice and beans and "Chikies." Thank you, Wallace and Kim, for how our Lord is using you to change the lives of the Nicaraguan people for Jesus and changing us as we had the privilege of coming along side you in this wonderful ministry. All the praise to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
