Building a Place of Worship - Grace BC, New Castle
“Let us arise and build.” Nehemiah 2:18
As the sun came up over the mountains and fields surrounding Grace Baptist Church in New Castle, Baptist Builders got up to build a place of worship!
For six and a half days work was continued on the building that was already under roof. Forty-two volunteers from thirteen churches worked at various tasks. LOTS of drywall was hung, finished and primed and more is to be done. Doors were hung, window ledges built, bathroom cabinets installed and plumbing finished in the downstairs bathrooms. Electrical work was continued. Framing was completed in the baptistery.
A few days before the arrival of our team, a county inspector told the pastor that the erosion control seeding must be completed by the next Monday! Once again, Baptist Builders were called to be “fluid” and God’s plan brought glory to Himself! At the end of the week the rain stopped and the ground dried enough to work outside. We were all amazed to learn that God had sent a man to work with us who is a site inspector for land erosion for his county! He not only led the seeding work, but was able to do everything needed to protect the property from erosion.
During the week many trips were made into town to purchase supplies and as folks returned they shared how they had used the tract “Why We’re Here…” to witness. Many in this small mountain community are asking why God would want to send so many workers to their town. Grace Baptist Church has been meeting in the school cafeteria for four years and 80 of the 150 members have accepted Christ during that time! What a testimony of how God is working!
Please pray for this church family as they grow and reach others for Jesus!
