Bibles for Southern Africa 2013
April – May
In Southern Africa, Bibles are needed to assist national leaders and local believers in learning the Word of God. Bibles in the native language, Sesotho of Lesotho, are very difficult to find and, if found, are extremely expensive. For this reason, most nationals do not own one. Bibles are needed to enable our IMB missionaries to teach people how to study the Word and seek answers for themselves.
Raise funds to purchase Bibles.
We are setting an SBCV goal of $25,000 (average cost for one Bible is $10) to send to our IMB missionaries for the purpose of purchasing Bibles that they will give to nationals whom they are discipling. Many of these nationals will become church planters in their villages. You and your church can be a vital part of spreading the Gospel throughout Southern Africa.
Please set aside a Sunday during April or May as “Bibles for Southern Africa Sunday” to collect an offering.
Where do we send our church's donations?
Donations may be sent by check to:
SBC of Virginia
"Bibles for SA Sunday"
4956 Dominion Boulevard
Glen Allen, VA 23060
This money will be forwarded directly to the field.
Pray—and consider going.
Please continue to keep this project in your prayers. Pray that the Lord would send new volunteers to help carry out His work in that area of the world. Pray for your own consideration in going on a short-term mission trip.
If you would like to know how you can participate in a mission trip to Southern Africa, contact Mark Gauthier at firstname.lastname@example.org.
