Rebuild Haiti

Rebuild Haiti would like to thank you for your interest in coming to Haiti and we praise God for your desire to assist with the rebuilding of this country. Below you will find some information that helps explain the Florida Baptist Convention’s and Southern Baptist Convention Disaster Relief and Recovery’s Rebuild Haiti project.

Rebuild Haiti is committed to building 6,200 homes by the end of 2013 through the joint efforts of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC), Baptist Global Response (BGR), the International Mission Board (IMB) and the Florida Baptist Convention (FBC).

Each single family home is 12 feet by 16 feet with a metal roof.

The current cost per home is $2,500.00 for materials and labor.

A case management system is in place to determine each applicant’s eligibility, research property ownership, finalize site selection and provide for accountability.

The majority of homes will be built by Haitian crews hired and trained by Rebuild Haiti. All materials are purchased in- country through Rebuild Haiti.

Rebuild Haiti is open to using SBC construction mission teams to work alongside Haitian crews for demolition and site preparation, mixing mortar, laying block, installing gable roofs and hanging doors.

SBC construction mission teams are responsible for all travel and in-country expenses. In-country expenses are $100.00 per person per day (in-country expenses include housing, two meals per day (morning & evening), transportation, translators and security. Construction Mission teams will stay at the Confraternite Missionaire Baptiste d’Haiti guesthouse along with the Rebuild Haiti staff.

Thank you again for your interest in helping Rebuild Haiti. We look forward to serving with you.
