Snow Shovel CALL OUT for Southeast Virginia

January 30, 2014

Virginia is blanketed by snow and your neighbors need your assistance.

There appears to be about 20,000 families across the state without electricity so please check on them to make sure they have a way to stay warm.

In addition to the electrical outages, the next known need is that the elderly and others may need assistance in clearing their driveways where the snowplows have blocked them in or buried their cars.  So I would encourage you to check with your neighbors and clear their drives.

HERE IS THE CALL OUT for those in Hampton Roads -The City of Norfolk Emergency Manager has asked for volunteers to clear the drives of the elderly and others in their community.  Operation Blessing will coordinate the CALL OUT.

If you are available, we will meet at the Lowes in Norfolk at 8:00 AM on Friday, January 31.  Dress appropriately and bring a snow shovel if you have one available.

You can wear your Disaster Relief shirts, hats, coats and ID.  You may also bring others that may be interested in serving.  This is an event the entire church family can serve.

Just so I have some idea of who will participate please complete this FORM.
