The Church Planting Process
The Church Planting Process is a formula which has been proven to facilitate the planting of healthy, reproducing church plants. It is divided into four key phases:
The discovery of people groups and communities in need of new churches.
People Group Worldview Studies
A process of gaining a better understanding of a selected people group for the purpose of developing and implementing relevant church planting plans.
Assisting SBCV churches in praying for the needs of the harvest in Virginia by way of sharing timely prayer guides as well as providing opportunities for on-site prayer activities.
Church Planter Enlistment
Seeking those whom God has called to actively participate in church planting.
Church Plant Sponsor Enlistment
Seeking churches that will partner together in planting a new church.
Church Planter Mentor Enlistment
Seeking experienced pastors and church planters who will invest in the lives of current church planters, particularly in the early phases of their church plant.
Church Planter Mentoring
Pairing current church planters with experienced pastors and church planters who will invest in the lives of current church planting, particularly in the early phases of their church plant.
Equipping for Church Planter Mentors
Providing training for experienced pastors and church planters that will equip them to be effective church planting mentors.
Church Planter Networks
Gathering church planters both regionally and statewide for the purpose of ongoing equipping, peer learning, prayer, encouragement, and celebration.
Equipping for Sponsoring Churches
Providing consultation to local churches regarding effective models and activities for sponsorship.
Annual Church Planter Assessments
Providing annual evaluations and feedback to church planters for the purpose of assisting them and their church plant to attain greater levels of growth and health.
Church Planting Mission Opportunities
Providing local churches with hands-on ministry opportunities that are designed to assist new church plants to impact lives in their respective communities with the Gospel.
