Name of EventSummer Intern Scholarship Application
OBJECTIVE:
> To strengthen local SBCV churches
> To equip future leaders in ministry

ELIGIBILITY:
> Scholarships are for interns serving during the summer. The application postmark deadline is March 1st.
> The scholarship shall be in the amount of $200/week for up to 10 weeks (see church requirements below).
> Funds are limited and will be distributed based on the priority of need and are not guaranteed.
> Priority will be given to churches with no existing intern(s).
> Priority will be given to churches that participate in the SBCV Studentz Camp. See website for camp dates and information. www.sbcv.org/studentz
> In addition to youth ministry, intern scholarships can be used for other ministry areas.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF CHURCHES:
> If accepted, the church is responsible for finding/interviewing/hiring a summer intern. SBCV can recommend potential candidates if the church makes a request for assistance.
> The church must provide a job description and regular oversight/mentorship of the intern.
> The church must pay the intern a minimum of $50/week (in addition to SBCV funding).
> The church must provide lodging/host home for the intern.
> The church must reimburse the intern for all ministry-related expenses, including mileage.
> The church must complete and submit a detailed activity report at midterm and conclusion of internship.
> The church youth ministry is urged to participate in the SBCV Studentz Camp. See website for details. www.sbcv.org/studentz
> Churches will be notified if they have been accepted or declined from receiving a scholarship within three weeks of the application deadline.

REQUIREMENTS FOR INTERNS:
> Interns must be young adults at least one year past high school graduation, who have a heart for ministry.
> Interns are to develop, lead and/or participate in at least the following weekly programs: Sunday morning, Wednesday night, discipleship, outreach and events throughout the summer.
> Interns are to involve/develop and multipy leaders that will continue the ministry once they leave.
> Interns must attend a one-day training at the SBCV Glen Allen office on the first Monday in June, from 10:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
> Interns are required to serve as camp staffers for SBCV Studentz Camp and should arrive to camp at 3 p.m. the Saturday prior to the beginning of camp.

Studentz Camp for an Evening

Experience the SBCV Studentz Camp for an Evening on Wednesday, July 9th from 5-10 p.m. at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. Come and enjoy dinner in the LU dining facility, a concert with Pocket Full of Rocks, participate in dynamic worship led by the Joel Engle Band, Clear Vision Drama and speaker Jamie George. If you are within driving distance, this could be a great alternative to your Wednesday night youth activities. The cost is $15 per person and includes dinner. Pre-registration is required by July 1st.

Studentz Youth Evangelism Conference (YEC)

YEC is about reaching out to lost students and helping those who are Christians become excited, committed witnesses for Christ.
