Annual Homecoming 2009 was held Sunday evening through Tuesday afternoon, November 8-10, and hosted by First Baptist Church, Norfolk, VA

Theme

This year's theme is Pushing Back The Darkness Through Evangelism and features God's Plan for Sharing (GPS) a national evangelism initiative supported by the North American Mission Board.

Vision 20/20

Vision 20/20 - Rev. Carl Weiser, Chairman of the Vision 20/20 Team, presented the Vision 20/20 report on Monday, November 9. The report was enthusiastically adopted the same afternoon.

2010 Ministry Investment Plan - On Monday, November 9, Dr. Doyle Chauncey presented the 2010 Ministry Investment Plan to the messengers of the 2009 Annual Homecoming. The plan was adopted the following day during the morning business session.

2009 Resolutions Committee Report - On Tuesday Morning, November 10, the Resolutions Committee presented four resolutions to the convention. These were immediately adopted.

Missions Fair

Mobilizing Churches hosted a Missions Fair on Tuesday, November 10.

Messengers and guests were given a Passport to Missions: a card with spaces to be marked at each of 12 Mobilizing Churches booths.

After visiting each of the 12 Mobilizing Churches booths, participants entered their marked passports into a drawing for mission trip scholarships. Two winners received scholarships including a $1000 scholarship for an IMB international mission trip and a $500 scholarship for a NAMB North American mission trip.

Fellowship Meals

Special fellowship meals and theme dinners were offered over the course of the Annual Homecoming. Meals included Seminary luncheons and affinity dinners as well as a special missions fair lunch on Tuesday afternoon.
