Attendees hear from a panel on Revitalizing Your Church, a church health breakout seminar during the Monday morning session.
A Time of Introductions
During this year's SBCV Annual Homecoming, messengers and guests were introduced to the Maturing Churches’ new mission statement, objectives, and provisions and the upcoming Church Health Analysis (CHA).
CHA is a self-discovery tool that will help your church assess its congregational health. This tool will be available for implementation in early 2010.
The Church Health Cycle—
Growing Upward & Moving Outward
During the Maturing Churches report at Annual Homecoming, the Church Health Cycle was explained and testimonies of churches reflecting these different levels were highlighted. We praise the Lord for the new life He gave to Gracepoint Church in Wise, formerly known as Ridgeview Baptist, and for the revitalization of Liberty Baptist in Appomattox. The testimony of Pinecrest Baptist in Portsmouth was featured in a video, reflecting a transformed church—from hearers to doers of the Word. A healthy church giving birth is Swift Creek Baptist in Midlothian—birthing Parkway Baptist in Moseley and Grace Harvest Baptist in Amelia. Rosedale Baptist Church in Abingdon was highlighted for its cross-training and sending out of next-generation leaders.
Is your church healthy and growing? Is it maturing? A maturing church is one that is in the process of advancing to the next level of health by growing upward and moving outward.
