Pastor and Family Outing:
On July 28th, the Midwest Area Pastors and their families will go to a Salem Avalanche game. Please contact Rhonda via email or call at 540-529-2295 to express your interest in attending this event. The deadline to reserve your tickets for this event is July 21st.
Power Breakfasts and Lunches:
The SBCV Pastor and Staff Fellowships will take on a new look beginning in August with Power Breakfasts and Lunches (Power B&L). An informal reatuarant setting will provide a relaxed atmosphere to encourage and pray for one another along with receiving some valuable tools and resources to use in ministry. These lunches will be smaller, more convenient to you and dutch treat. In the past, we normally had two Pastor Fellowships in the Midwest Area now, we will have at least 8 Power B&L's. With gas prices hitting $4.00, you reap the benefit of having a Power B&L closer to you. Watch this space for the locations of the August Power B&L's.
Pastor Connections:
In September, November and April, we will have the larger evening fellowships called "Pastor Connnections" at the traditional Cluster Fellowship locations. There will be a Fall, Christmas and Spring Pastor Connection. These events will feature good food, fellowship, a guest speaker, testimonies, music and more. Set the following dates aside for Pastor Connections.
September 9 - 6:30 pm - Green Ridge Baptist Church - RoanokeSeptember 11 - 6:30 pm - Fishersville Baptist Church -Fishersville
December 2 - 6:30 pm - RoanokeDecember 4 - 6:30 pm - Fishersville

In-State Building Project
We have launched our first project located in Staunton, VA. We will remodel a home owned by a SBCV church and used by Church Planters and Interns. If you are interested in participating or would just like more information please join us at Wayne Hills Baptist Church, 877 Ladd Road in Waynesboro on March 15, from 9:30 until 11:00am. We will discuss Baptist Builders and this project in particular. This project will last several months working mostly on weekends. If you plan on attending please email Mission Mobilization so we can plan to have enough material and snacks. Also please extend this invitation to others in your church. When you respond please let us know the number of persons planning to attend.
Soldier R&R Kits
The response by SBC of Virginia Churches to the Virginia National Guard soldiers deployed in Iraq has been abudantly above anything we could ever ask or imagine. SBC of Virginia Churches have prepared 2,105 Soldier R & R Kits. This will allow soldiers to experience a little bit of home by watching a movie, enjoying a snack and reading the best Book.
Zion Hill, Palestine, New Life, Grace Fellowshiop, Grace-Stuart, Glen Lyn, Fishersville, First-Bassett, East End-Roanoke, Crystal Springs, Brambleton and Boones Mill all participated in preparing boxes to remind our deployed soldiers they are prayed for daily and not forgotten. Thank you for supporting this ministry effort.
