Calvary Baptist Church, Portsmouth, Virginia
Calvary Baptist Church, Portsmouth, Virginia, a member of the Southern Baptist Convention, is seeking a senior pastor. Its current pastor is retiring on September 30, 2010 after serving as the church’s pastor for thirty years. We are an urban church located approximately one mile west of the heart of downtown Portsmouth with an average Sunday attendance of 150 and a resident membership of approximately 450 persons. Portsmouth is located in the southeastern part of Virginia in the Hampton Roads region.
We seek an effective communicator, a visionary, a skilled counselor, a gifted teacher, and a person with strong leadership skills. We ask that applicants have a master’s degree from an accredited seminary with five years experience as a pastor, or the equivalent. Compensation package will depend upon qualifications.
