About The SBCV...
Meet & Contact Us...
We strive to strengthen the existing churches in our state. Jesus has given local congregations the task of world evangelization, and the SBCV exists to support churches to fulfill that Commission. Our convention has a role in helping to strengthen existing churches so they can be more effective in taking the Gospel to Virginia and the world. A healthy church reaches and impacts its community. The SBCV is committed to helping our churches become healthy churches prepared to fulfill the Great Commission. To strengthen established churches, we provide opportunities for leadership development, equipping for Sunday school leaders, effective evangelism training, stewardship and missions education, church strategic planning and consulting, women's enrichment ministry, and student ministry. One of the ways SBCV can strengthen existing churches is through VBS training. Go to our VBS webpage to find out when and where training clinics will be coming in 2006. Those clinics will provide useful information and training related to the two new curricula from LifeWay:
Arctic Edge: Where Adventure Meets Courage!Trek north to LifeWay's VBS 2006, Arctic Edge, where daily excursions from Big Bear Lodge will have kids hiking across the tundra, exploring the seascape by kayak, and skimming the backcountry in a float plane. Based on Joshua 1:9, Arctic Edge helps kids find the courage required to follow Jesus in the every day challenges of their lives as they learn that God is always with them.
Club VBS 2006 is out-of-this-world!Blast off for an out-of-this-world adventure with Club VBS: Space Quest! Kids will explore biblical truths about Jesus' mission for them and jet to space stations for crafts, snacks, and recreation. If you're looking for a high-energy anytime Vacation Bible School, Club VBS is for you!
