One of the many purposes through Vision Virginia is to help fund scholarships for ministry interns to work in churches across Virginia. Justin Beville, a three-time recipient of one of these scholarships, grew up in an SBC of Virginia church in Powhatan. Justin never considered seminary until he attended Southeastern Theological Seminary to pursue his Bachelor’s Degree. During his first year of college, Beville was looking for something to do during his summer off and decided to apply for an intern scholarship. His home church, Old Powhatan Baptist, poured into him and allowed him to work alongside the ministry that summer. This experience led to him spending two more summers serving with SBCV churches through the Vision Virginia scholarship. “I just wanted to continue just to have opportunities to get my feet wet in ministry,” Beville shared. “And Vision Virginia really helped me.”
A few years later, Kingsland Baptist Church in Richmond had an opening for a youth pastor position. “We needed to find someone who was mature, someone who knew the Word, and of course someone who loved the Lord and loved teenagers,” Pat Fiordelise shared, senior pastor of Kingsland Baptist. “Pastor Justin definitely fit that bill.”
This is Vision Virginia.
