The Southern Baptist Conservatives of Virginia is a fellowship of Southern Baptist Convention churches cooperating to assist local congregations in their task of fulfilling the Great Commission as commanded by our Lord Jesus Christ.
Our mission is to strengthen and mobilize churches to make disciples and plant churches for Jesus Christ through Gospel partnership.
Church strengthening is focused on supporting church leadership and strengthening existing churches.
Mobilizing churches is focused on providing opportunities for churches and individuals to get out of the pew and into their communities.
Planting churches are committed to assisting our churches in their task of fulfilling the Great Commission, penetrating lostness through church planting.
Our vision for church revitalization desires, if possible, for a church to retain the same people with the same leadership and catch a fresh vision for their church and their community.
Biblical Truth | Global Mission | Gospel Partnership | Local Churches | Fervent Prayer
We believe that the Bible is the verbally inspired Word of God, and is sufficient as our only infallible rule of faith and practice. We deny that other books are inspired by God in the same way as the Bible. The fundamental truths to which we are committed are expressed in the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 with the clarification of inerrancy as described.
At the SBC of Virginia, we believe strongly that having a local missionary in the area, working hand-in-hand with God’s people, will have a far more meaningful impact on the spread of the Gospel than we could provide from a central location. Because of this, we’ve divided our state into six ministry regions, each having dedicated regional missionaries to assist local churches with their individual needs.
What is the Cooperative Program? Together, our SBC of Virginia churches partner with more than 45,000 churches in the Southern Baptist Convention. That’s more than 16 million Southern Baptists across the country.
