Most of us will remember the riots and other problems that put Seattle, Washington, into the news in 2020. There are relatively few evangelical churches in Seattle. Do you see a connection there?
That’s why our North American Mission Board has sent a number of home missionaries to Seattle — to plant new churches that will introduce the gospel. Dave and Mary Elliff and their four children moved from Arkansas to Seattle in 2015 and they have planted a new church called Roots Community Church. They’ve been meeting in a community center in northeast Seattle.
Dave agrees that Seattle is a hard place to plant a new church. But it’s where new churches are desperately needed — and that’s where God has called them to serve.
Our church is supporting Dave and Mary through our Cooperative Program giving. We also support our North American Mission Board as its leaders coordinate planting new churches across North America.
Let’s pray now for Dave and Mary. Let’s ask God to bless their new church and draw many lost people into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ.
