Today, let’s go by prayer to Madrid, Spain, so we can pray for Caleb and Carina Beaty, two of our missionaries there. Our church supports them through our Cooperative Program giving.
Caleb and Carina are music missionaries whose music often enriches worship in churches around the city. But when COVID-19 locked everything down, they decided their music could leave their apartment, even if they could not.
On Easter Sunday in 2020, they opened their apartment windows and sang Christian songs for their neighbors in the surrounding tall buildings that are common in Spanish cities. Caleb played his guitar and Carina played her viola with the windows opened so people could hear better!
A story about those window concerts got to Arkansas, where a woman had been hosting an exchange student from Spain — Maria had become a Christian while there. Her host asked Carina to follow up with Maria when she got back to Madrid.
Carina discipled the 17-year-old and Maria became an active witness to her neighbors and family.
Let’s pray now for Caleb and Carina, our music missionaries. Let’s thank the Lord that their songs about Jesus can get through big walls and many miles!
