Today we’re going to pray for two of our missionaries who serve in one of the world’s most difficult mission fields — Japan. We’ll call them Jack and Prinna. They were born in Thailand but later moved to the United States. They settled in Tennessee, got jobs, and were happy with life.
But God called them to Japan in 2011 — that was the year Japan was hit by a major storm, earthquake, and the meltdown of a nuclear power plant. TV reports showed people with no hope, people without Jesus.
Japan’s culture is harsh to its people who are different — including those who become Christian. That’s one reason Japan still has fewer Christians than many other parts of Asia. Jack and Prinna prayed God would reach entire families. Their prayers were answered in the Yoshida family. The grandmother, parents, and their children all committed their lives to Christ. Since then they have led others to Jesus and now lead a group in their apartment.
Our church supports Jack and Prinna and their ministry in Japan through the Cooperative Program. We rejoice with their victories for Christ! Let’s pray that so many entire families across Japan come to Christ that it will be considered another earthquake — a spiritual one this time!
