For our prayer time today, let’s think about Central Asia. Much of this area is rough and mountainous. That’s the kind of place our missionary, Molly Petry, serves. She has worked for years to share the Gospel to an isolated people group — about 28,000 people. They live in a valley that’s deep in the mountains, beyond where the road ends. Molly drives six hours from the city, then faces a rugged hike on foot to reach that valley. That’s only in warm weather. In winter, nobody can get there.
Just one family of Christians live in the valley. The family has been the local contact for Molly and other ministry partners who have been helping get a supply of clean water set up for the valley. As a reminder, our church helps support Molly through our Cooperative Program giving. We also help support the Send Relief program working on the water — we Southern Baptists support it through both our mission boards.
A real victory came last year when Molly traveled with a woman living in the city to and from the valley. After many hours of teaching, the woman made a profession of faith in Christ! Friends, let’s pray that Molly’s long faithfulness will be rewarded by seeing all of the people in that valley turn to Christ. Let’s pray that they will have both clean water to drink and the endless Living Water of Jesus for their souls.
