During these four days, 480 people have already passed through the UBTS. In the last 24 hours, we have received, fed, accommodated, and relocated 150 people. We are joined by volunteers who serve with their vehicles, houses, food and respond to any need. Please see attached some photos so that you have a better picture of what is happening at UBTS.

Send Relief has already been collaborating with national partners in response to needs in Ukraine, and have worked through partners to provide Emergency food, shelter, and transportation in Ukraine. We have released significant resources to support these national partners and are collaborating now with company partners and national partners in response plans that will greatly increase our response in Ukraine and with displaced in Poland.

Current Crisis: The brewing conflict between Ukraine and Russia that has been simmering since 2014 is now boiling over and Russia has invaded Ukraine. The Russian Federation has recognized two breakaway regions in Eastern Ukraine, so-called Luhansk, and Donetsk People’s Republic, and ordered Russian troops to conduct «peacekeeping» operations in these areas and has used this to launch full scale invasion of Ukraine. The EU and the international community have declared this a blatant violation of international law and have issued sanctions against Russia. These areas in Eastern Ukraine, were already suffering from food, water, sanitation, and hygiene needs. All reports indicate that the situation continues to deteriorate as the war continues to escalate. Reports continue to indicate that as many as five million Ukrainians will be displaced in neighboring countries such as Poland and Romania, and large numbers of IDP’s are beginning to form in Western Ukraine (many of these are women, children, and elderly). Churches across the nation continue to gather for prayer and fasting with reports of Orthodox, Baptist, Evangelical and Pentecostal churches joining to pray together.
Current Resources Activated: Send Relief has been working through Send Relief Area Directors to respond and continues to be in contact with partners. Send Relief was already responding with food relief and working to provide shelter, clothing, and ministry to those displaced and impacted by the pending crisis before the invasion began. Send Relief increased response further with support of a national partners in Ukraine in conflict areas and has committed significant release of funds for emergency food, shelter, and transportation to assist those being affected by this intensifying crisis of war. Send Relief is collaborating heavily with partners in response to this growing humanitarian crisis, and we anticipate this to become a level 3B crisis response. We are currently collaborating with partners with further support of relief projects in Ukraine and with displaced in Poland. We currently have funded almost $310,000 in relief efforts.
