Resonate Church, an SBC of Virginia church plant less than two years old, was unable to continue church services at the school where they were meeting. Searching for a new spot, the congregation found an unexpected place: Launch Richmond, a trampoline park. The staff at Launch Richmond were open and willing to allow Resonate to meet there every Sunday at 9:00 AM.
With the environment around them, Resonate decided to launch a youth ministry opportunity, meeting one Wednesday a month. A laser tag arena, trampoline park, and obstacle courses provide great options for youth activities. Using this facility brought leverage to invite youth to come and have fun, but also to stay and hear the word of God.
Mike Cauthorne, lead pastor of Resonate, said, “You just got to seek, then knock, then ask. It’s that simple.” Resonate Church would not have found their new home without seeking, knocking, and asking God for help. He was able to open Launch Richmond’s doors and provide Resonate a church home and eventually a youth ministry.
Because of God’s provision, Resonate wants to be able to share their space with other youth ministries that might need a place to meet, reaching more youth with the Gospel.
Thanks to your prayers and gifts through the Vision Virginia missions offering, church plants like Resonate can reach others for Christ, even in the most unique places.
