Storm Devastation
Hurricane Ian was nearly a Category-5 storm when it made landfall on Florida’s Gulf Coast. The catastrophic 155 mile-per-hour winds, rain, and storm surge left Florida residents with widespread flooding, power outages, and wind damage to homes and businesses.
SBCV Disaster Relief is working with the SBC DR directors of Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina and the Virginia Department of Emergency Management. We have been asked to send teams to Venice, Florida to work in feeding, recovery, assessment, and chaplaincy.
How You Can Help
We encourage you to pray, give, and go.
This sign-up will work differently than in the past. We have been asked to build the team, then schedule the team with the Incident Command in Venice. The quicker we build a team the quicker we can schedule and confirm departure and arrival times. Please stay patient as we work within the organizing efforts of our SBC Disaster Relief partners. The situation is still quite fluid. If you are interested in going, here are the two options:
WEEK 1
Work days: Mon. – Fri., Oct. 10-15
WEEK 2
Work days: Mon. – Fri., Oct. 17-21
Thank you for your partnership in the Gospel through Disaster Relief. We hope to see you soon. If you have any questions please feel free to email us at disasterrelief@sbcv.org.
