About Sojourn Church:
The town and county of Floyd is a very diverse mix of religions (Buddhism, New Age-ism, Jehovah’s Witness) and lifestyles and professions (farmers, musicians, artisans). Many people come from all over the world to get away from routine life and, in a way, to wander. Our vision is to see these wanderers become followers of Christ. Our approach is to cultivate a community that follows Christ. We started with a team of 20 people who believed in this vision, and we were averaging around 50 after just three weeks, many of whom had not stepped foot in a church in decades, if ever. God is calling his lost children to follow Christ here in Floyd.
Ways to Partner:
- We are seeking prayer partners (email Pastor Isaac at icmartin77@gmail.com to be added to the prayer email list).
- We are also seeking individuals and churches to partner with us financially for 1-3 years.
Pray:
- Pray that non-Christians will continue to come to our worship services and community groups, hear the Gospel, and decide to follow Christ.
- Pray for our team to continue living on mission (to make disciples).
- Pray for some older couples to join our church.
- There are many anti-Christians in Floyd, who will believe in anything but Christ. Please pray that whatever area they’re placing their hope in will fail them.
- Pray John 21:15-19 and Ephesians 4:1 over us.
- Pray for continued leadership development, specifically for elders to be raised up.
- Pray for God to show us what community needs he wants to meet through us.
