SPIRITUAL CHARACTERISTICS
— a clear salvation testimony and activate participation in church life.
— is able to support and practice the doctrine and belief statements of Movement church.
— if not a Movement Partner, a letter of recommendation from home church leadership.
PERSONALITY CHARACTERISTICS
— demonstrates a high level of trust and the need for confidentiality
— must have a cheerful and positive attitude and be willing to help even if task falls outside stated job.
— must be courteous, respectful and tactful to everyone.
— is a constant learner and has a teachable spirit.
— is able to receive direction from the pastoral staff.
— flexibly to change on the fly and respond to unanticipated needs is critical.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, and ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS
— must be self-directed and able to complete all custodial duties with little to no supervision.
— must be flexible and willing to adapt to varying schedules and level of work required from week to
week.
— must have general knowledge of different cleaning techniques or willing to be trained.
— must be proactive in addressing cleaning needs and problems before they are brought up or
requested.
— must be honest and trustworthy as she/he will have access to secured areas of the church.
— would be helpful to have some knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical and general repair work.
— must be responsible and able to arrange for duties and tasks to be accomplished.
RESPONSIBILITIES, DUTIES and TASKS
The following is not intended to be an exhaustive list, but to indicate the routine and repeating items that
need attention.
— Be responsible for the cleaning of the church facility; buildings A, B, and C. This includes, but is not
limited to dusting, vacuuming, straightening & picking up, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing and sanitizing.
— Remove all trash from the building and place it in the trash bins or dumpster.
— Maintain the cleanliness of and provide supplies for all restrooms.
— Check all rooms used in the previous 24 hours and shut off lights and lock doors as needed.
— Prepare all areas for use. This is to include, but not be limited to, arranging chair and table set-ups,
trash disposal, equipment staging, etc.
— As needed or requested, move furniture and equipment.
— Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks such as, HVAC filter changes, light replacements,
painting, minor repairs, etc.
— Immediately report to the assigned supervisor any major leaks, mechanical system failures or major
maintenance problems.
MISCELLANEOUS
— The Church Administrator will provide any changes to the regular work schedule, indicating when and
where specific cleaning or other tasks need to be performed.
— The Building & Property Manager is expected to be able to organize and conduct his/her work without
continuing reminders. The schedule for upcoming events will be distributed along with any changes on a
weekly basis by the Church Administrator.
— An understanding that if an emergency arises, the Building & Property Manager may be called in after
hours or weekends to address an urgent need.
Schedule and Compensation
Compensation: $15.75 per hour
Work Hours: 40 hours per week
(During the COVID pandemic and while we are hosting the YMCA Success Center, evening hours will be
required in preparation for the next days activities.)
