Youth Director -- East End Baptist Church
The youth director must be a member of East End Baptist church and subscribe to its constitution, statement of faith and church covenant.
a. The youth director will be supervised by the Pastors/Elders and deacons and the youth committee, with feedback from the youth themselves and their parents.
b. The youth director himself should be dedicated to prayer and his own personal study of the word.
Youth Director duties will include:
-- Providing leadership and instruction in the context of our Youth
Program, which at this time consists of our middle school and high
school youth. This leadership and instruction will entail:
1. A weekly youth meeting that would include a bible
study/devotion that is doctrinally sound and relevant to the
youth and which will encourage them to trust in Christ and live
a godly life. The youth director should be intentional in
proclaiming the hope of the gospel at every opportunity,
especially in bible study/devotion, so that all our youth might be
2. Music, games, food and other activities could/should be
included at the weekly gathering to help facilitate fellowship
and a sense of community among the youth.
3. Maintain regular contact with the youth.
4. Follow up on those youth who begin to fall away from
attending or who are currently not attending.
a. This could include phone calls, emails, texts and

1. Helping to teach Sunday School lessons that are doctrinally
sound and relevant to the youth and that will help them trust
Christ and live a godly life.
2. Encourage Sunday School attendance among the youth and
help follow up on those who have fallen away from attendance
or who are not attending.
a. This again could include phone calls, emails, texts and
--Working with the Youth Committee to organize and lead a youth event (concert, service project, ministry project, fellowship get together, fun activity etc) at least once each quarter and a larger youth event – missions trip etc. at least yearly.
--Attend the church council meetings to discuss upcoming plans regarding our youth and to help plan future church events, ministries etc.
-- Meet with the Youth Committee as needed to help plan events and facilitate the best possible ministry to the youth.
--Represent the youth and youth interests at the regularly scheduled business meetings of the church and bring a written report regarding attendance/progress in the youth group and past/upcoming youth activities/subject matter being taught and the number of visits and contacts made with the youth over the past month etc. If he is unable to be present at the meeting this report can be read by a member of the youth committee or one of the elders.
-- To provide the pastors/elders and/or deacons with an outline of the content that will be taught each time new content or material will be used.
Vacation and sick time will be worked out with the youth director by the pastors/elders, deacons and the youth committee as deemed appropriate to his needs and circumstances.
Some experience in teaching and leading youth is desired.
Compensation: $200-$500 per month
