Ministry Description
The Student Ministry Middle School Director sits directly underneath the Student Ministry Pastor and helps to oversee and provide leadership for all aspects of the student ministry. He is a high-capacity leader with proven ability to cast vision and relate well with students, parents, staff, and volunteers while planning, developing, coordinating, administrating, and implementing a vibrant and growing student ministry of more than 250 students. His life reflects spiritual maturity and a strong relationship with Jesus Christ, and he has a demonstrated passion for making disciples and communicating the truths of Scripture in ways that are relevant to students.

Ministry Requirements
As expected of all leaders at River Oak Church, the Student Ministry Middle School Director gives priority to his daily devotional life and is always ready to invest in mentoring relationships with students and leaders. He is expected to be a member of the church, participate in church activities, and give of his time, talents, and resources to the church. He should be personally involved in corporate worship, a life group, sharing his faith, discipleship, missions, counseling, and other shepherding aspects of service and ministry within the local body.
At River Oak Church, ministry is done by working with others. The Student Ministry Middle School Director helps determine the appropriate infrastructure of volunteers and staff to support the respective student ministries. As a ministry leader, he is to meet the qualifications for an overseer set forth in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9 and lead by example when working to accomplish mutually agreed-upon ministry objectives.
The Student Ministry Middle School Director is to do the following:
• Come beside and help further the vision/strategic direction for the Student Ministry
• Assist in leading the Student Ministry/engage appropriate individuals in planning, conducting, and evaluating a comprehensive program that balances discipleship, ministry, fellowship, evangelism/missions, and worship
• Work with appropriate staff, leadership and/or church members to define and articulate annual goals, themes, priorities, desired outcomes and performance measures for each major ministry area, targeting areas to be initiated and supported, weaknesses to be addressed, and areas to be closed down or re-set
• Employ biblical principles in the management of all resources (personnel, budget, office materials, etc.)
• Coordinate and work with various support leadership groups including, Pastoral and Senior Staff, Administrative Staff, Student Ministry volunteers, and Student Parents

Requirements
• A desire to go into full-time ministry, 2-year experience preferred
• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree required (ministry-related field preferred); seminary education is a plus
• Meets the spiritual qualifications listed in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9
• Agrees fully with the Baptist Faith and Message, 2000
