What is SBCV Women’s Ministry Care?

The SBC of Virginia cares about you and the ministry work you are doing. We understand that ministry can be difficult, often leaving us feeling isolated and stressed. SBCV Women’s Ministry Care wants you to know that you are not alone, and offers you a safe place outside of your normal community to find prayer, biblical encouragement, and an opportunity to process questions you have concerning ministry.

SBCV Women’s Ministry Care takes place via Zoom and lasts about 30 minutes. During this time, we will listen and discuss your current ministry situation and guide you to potential next steps, offering a fresh perspective and relevant resources.

Here are some examples of what your call might be about:
  • You’re feeling burned out in the current season and you could use some encouragement.
  • You’re not connecting with your women and you just need to be reminded that you’re not wasting your time.
  • You don’t feel supported in your role at church and you could use some prayer.
  • You’re unsure how to navigate a difficult situation involving women at church and you want to talk it out with someone.
  • You’re facing a difficult conversation and you are in need of prayer.
  • You’re experiencing conflict and are seeking a peaceful resolution.

What ministry care is not:

This isn’t a professional counseling call. When you sign up for a call, we will ask you to give us a general explanation of the nature of your call. If we feel like it’s outside of our range of expertise, we will let you know right away.

While we ask for transparency, please know that this is not intended to be a conversation that dishonors your church, ministry leaders, or women in your ministry.

Who is it intended for?

If you are a woman who falls into one of the following categories, these calls are designed for you:

  • women’s ministry leaders
  • church staff members and spouses
  • Bible study teachers, and
  • volunteers

Who will I talk to?

When you sign up for SBCV Women’s Ministry Care, you will speak to one of our experienced, seasoned, SBCV Women’s Ministry Team members. These are women who bring a wealth of knowledge and wisdom about women’s ministry. They are passionate about serving and empowering you and of course, all calls will be held in the strictest of confidence.
