Today in our prayer time we’re going to pray for a seminary leader. His name is Nirintsoa Mamitiana, and he lives in Madagascar. That’s the island on the right lower side of Africa when you look at a map. Mamitiana started a new seminary in his home country to train pastors and other leaders to serve the churches there. Our church helped that happen.
How? Well, our church supports Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, through the Cooperative Program. That helps students get the training they need for a much lower cost than most other schools charge. Mamitiana earned a Ph.D. degree from Southwestern. Then he went home and put it to good use. Our investment in Southwestern and the five other seminaries across the United States will pay off in ways we cannot even imagine.
Let’s pray for Mamitiana and his teaching ministry on that far-off African Island. And let’s pray for the students now studying at Southwestern. In another 10 or 20 years, who knows what kind of Kingdom ministries they will be doing!
