The Grand Canyon averages more rescues than any other national park in the world. It’s steep drops, soaring temperatures, and lack of water access have accounted for hundreds of deaths since it was first explored. Many of these deaths could have been avoided had precautions been taken by overly confident yet unprepared hikers.
In this life, God’s people will face adversity. Believers must prepare by heeding God’s Word. The spiritual forces behind this world system hate the things of God, and believers will experience persecution as a result. The believer must “take heart” (2 Timothy 3:12).
How do we overcome the various “troubles” of life? God’s people must be strong in conviction and truth, cultivating a love for Christ that overcomes the temptation to make comfort, safety or asset accumulation the highest priority. A Christ-centered, eternal mindset will enable us to trust him no matter the circumstances and to be prepared for the journey
