If a disaster strikes your community during the COVID-19 crisis, SBCV Disaster Relief (DR) will likely not be able to respond in ways that we have in the past. Local church volunteers need training! To facilitate Ready Church, DR orientation, we will be offering a three-hour DR Orientation sessions online through Zoom, a video conferencing resource, on May 2 from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm. Mark Gauthier, SBCV State DR Director, will host and use the videos already online. He will also cover general guidelines on a response with Social Distancing in mind.
To register for the Ready Church/ Disaster Relief Orientation click here.
- Each person will be able to view the videos from home.
- They will be fully credentialed as Basic DR Volunteer.
- This will be critical if a disaster strikes your locality.
SBCVDR will also be able to bring any state-owned recovery unit (chainsaw or flood) to your church to support any response, but the units will likely need to be manned by local church volunteers.
