The holidays provide a unique opportunity to minister to international missionaries as they are often separated from loved ones. During this season, consider how your family, small group, or church can care for our sent ones.

Pray
Scripture declares that the harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. (Matthew 9)
Thank the Lord for the sent ones who have gone to work the gospel fields and pray for more workers to be called out.
The Spirit of God knows what to pray. (Romans 8)
Pray the names of missionaries and ask the Spirit of God to intercede on their behalf.
God will continue the good work. (Philippians 1)
Coronavirus does not stop the work of God. Praise Him for continuing the work He began in and through these workers – that He will bring it to completion.

In Your Community:
Remember the missionaries sent out from your church.
Work with your Sunday School class, small group, or church to find a way to bless your missionaries this Christmas. It could mean ministering to loved ones that are stateside such as a college student or aging parent. Some workers may be in a country with strict quarantine protocol – and need the touch of an encouraging phone call. Or, some workers may be stateside due to COVID travel restrictions and need care in the meantime. In any scenario, the love of a brother or sister in Christ is a wonderful gift to a missionary during the holiday season.
In the SBCV:
Send a Christmas or Thank You card to a Retired Missionary.
A great way to involve younger generations is to teach and remind them of the legacy of Southern Baptist missions. One way to do that is to send a note of thanks to a retired missionary. Retired missionaries often feel forgotten. The simplest card from children and youth can bless a retired missionary this season.
