Thailand is about as far from the United States as you can get and stay on our planet — around 9,000 miles away. Let’s pray there today.
That’s where Sarah Mitchell, our journeyman missionary, serves. Specifically, she serves in Bangkok, the capital city. Population: About 15 million.
Within this huge city, Sarah looks for Deaf people so she can teach them the Bible and bring them to faith in Christ. She learned Thai sign language so she could communicate with the Deaf.
At first, it was not easy to even locate Deaf people in the big city. But she learned to follow the Holy Spirit as her spiritual GPS. She was directed to take a motorcycle taxi instead of her usual one — the taxi man was Deaf! She was directed to leave early for a meeting — and met a Deaf lady selling fruit.
Sara spends hours with some of the Deaf people she has met; mostly signing Bible stories that will lead to telling the story of Jesus. Sarah says she’s ordinary, but an ordinary person plus God equals extraordinary!
Our church supports Sarah through our Cooperative Program giving. Let’s pray for her now.
