Let’s pray for Ben and Hope Minter, new missionaries preparing to serve in Bogotá, Colombia. Their call began unexpectedly. The Minters were in Colombia for five
weeks as part of an international adoption. From their apartment window, Ben joked that it wouldn’t be so bad if God asked them to stay.
At first, it was just a family laugh. International mission work wasn’t even on their radar. But during that season, Hope found herself sharing the Gospel in Spanish repeatedly with their new daughter. She realized God had given her the gift of two languages, not only to bond with her child, but also to reach many others with His story.
As they looked out over the vast city, their hearts grew heavy for the millions who don’t yet know Christ. What started as a joke turned into a calling. Now, Mercy Hill Church in Greensboro, North Carolina, is sending the Minters back to Colombia as International Mission Board missionaries.
Let’s pray that God uses their family to reach many in Bogotá with the good news of Jesus and that others, like their daughter, will grow up to know and share His love.
