Hibiki Yoda is one of many students at Gateway Seminary who feel called to share the Gospel after graduation. She grew up in Japan, where only 1–2% of the population is Christian. It wasn’t until she came to the United States on a study abroad trip that she clearly heard the Gospel and placed her faith in Jesus.
Encouraged by her pastor to pursue theological training, Hibiki earned her bachelor’s degree at California Baptist University and is now studying at Gateway Seminary, one of six Southern Baptist seminaries supported by the Cooperative Program.
She is currently working toward a master’s degree in intercultural studies, with the goal of serving overseas as a missionary wherever God leads. Alongside her studies, Hibiki leads worship and women’s ministries at her church and serves in outreach, connecting with students who are walking a path similar to hers.
Pray that Hibiki will remain faithful to her calling during this season of preparation and that God will shape her into a bold and compassionate witness for Christ.
