Let’s pray for Matt and Evelyn Podge, International Mission Board missionaries serving in Seoul, South Korea, along with their children, Shawn and Corbin.
Seven-year-old Shawn is eager to share about his life and Jesus. Whether in English or Korean, he talks about God and the work his family is doing. Growing up in Seoul, Shawn and his two-year-old sister, Corbin, are learning what it means to live among the lost for the sake of the Gospel.
For the Podges, ministry begins at home. In a culture where hosting is uncommon, they’ve intentionally arranged their apartment to be a welcoming space. On Mondays, Matt leads Bible lessons for children while mothers gather nearby. On Sundays, a Korean-language church plant meets in their living room. The family also participates in outreach events like the International Fireworks Festival, where they distribute snacks and Gospel materials. The children’s kindness and enthusiasm draw people in.
Matt and Evelyn are grateful for the support of Southern Baptists, which allows them to live and serve among those with little understanding of the Gospel. Their ministry is made possible through your prayers and gifts. Remember the Podge family as they build relationships and share Christ’s love in South Korea.
