Omaha, Nebraska is just about in the middle of the country and that’s where we want to pray for Tanner and Naomi Devereaux, our missionaries there.
They moved to Omaha in 2022, called to plant a new church for all kinds of people. They named the new church Imago Dei (say im-AH-go day) Church. That means the image of God — we’re called as Christians to live and look like Jesus as we live our lives.
That’s important in a place like Omaha, where perhaps 75 percent of the people are lost.
The new church has grown and already has a building located just a few miles from downtown. Tanner and Naomi talk to people about Jesus a lot. When they met Joe at the gym, they invited him to church. He came and is now a believer who invites others to come too.
They partner with other churches to help feed hungry people in the city; they handed out 1,500 bags of food in one recent project.
Our church is supporting Tanner and Naomi out there in Omaha through our Cooperative Program giving.
Let’s ask God to help them lead thousands to faith in Christ.
