Today, we’ll pray for one of our missionary couples sharing the good news about Jesus in the Steel City of Pittsburgh: Reggie and Courtney Johnson.
Years ago, God gripped Reggie’s heart with a passion: To plant a church where God is, but the church is not. That calling led Reggie and Courtney to the West End of Pittsburgh, where they planted Christ Central Church.
Only a bridge separates this neighborhood from downtown Pittsburgh. But West End has deep physical and spiritual needs. There’s poverty and so few grocery stores here that it’s called a “food desert.” Many here need Jesus.
Christ Central Church works in local sports, helps people with moving, cleans up local parks, and hosts events like Easter egg hunts to get acquainted with people and share the gospel.
Our church supports Reggie and Courtney through the Cooperative Program. Let’s pray for them as they work to change the Steel City to the City of Jesus!
