After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. And they cried out in a loud voice: “Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.” Revelations 7:9-10 (CSB)
Can you image this picture, and how beautiful it will be, all in front of Him, and no matter where we come from or what language we speak, everyone giving glory to the only God.
Many times, we can feel a little bit of this picture, when we have met with people of different languages or nations in order to learn more about God and praise Him. How good and pleasant is dwelling in unity.
Unfortunately, in this fallen world, we have created many divisions and we have even put barriers and limits in our countries. Not that this is wrong, but it is simply something that we have created to have some order and structure made by man. But the truth of the matter is that, before God, we are all His beautiful creatures. He has died for everyone equally. We’ve just been blessed to have been born in different places.
Living in a country that is not my country of origin, I have been able to see the beautiful combination of praising God in two languages and now in a congregation where, although we all speak the same language, we come from 12 different countries. The cultural diversity is something incredible to see and the most beautiful thing is to hear the testimonies of many of them and hear how, in their own country and culture, they worshiped the only God. All of us in a country that is not ours of origin, now we gather together to give Him the Glory.
So regardless of whether your congregation has different cultures or has ministries with different languages, think about getting involved in these, thinking that one day we will be before Him in the same way. I like the passage from Psalms 86:9 where it says that all those nations HE MADE will come and worship, because the fact that we are from different places of origin was the Creator’s design, but yet we were all created to come before Him and worship Him.
In Psalm 117: 1, He also tells us that every people and every nation should praise Him, so I encourage you to have a little of this experience that is wonderful, that regardless of the language or the country in which we find ourselves, God has commanded us in the same way. He wants to have a relationship with each of His creatures. Let us all, as children of the King, come and worship Him.
