The SBC of Virginia encourages young people who are seeking experience to connect with ministries through an internship. An internship provides an opportunity for growth in experience as well as providing assistance to ministries making a difference. An intern can connect directly with ministries or churches with which they are interested or they may seek out the SBC of Virginia internship program. The local churches customize the internship based on the need of the respective church.
The SBC of Virginia offers a grant to churches to help partially fund a 10 week internship during the summer. Students who are interested in becoming an intern need to provide contact and personal information, experience, ministry interests and time frame by completing the profile (see link below). The SBC of Virginia does not place students in ministry, therefore your profile, along with others, will be sent to requesting churches for consideration. Individual churches will pursue interviews and extend ministry opportunities to students directly.
Partial Internship Grants may be available to SBCV Churches who host an intern. See below for more information and to apply.
Churches that would like to hire an intern for a 10-week period may apply for an up-to $1500 per year grant, providing they meet the qualification (please see below). The grant is made possible through contributions from SBCV churches to the annual Vision Virginia Missions Offering to help strengthen the local church and equip future leaders in ministry.
