Speaker
KJ Washington
New Valley Church, Waynesboro

Dr. Washington grew up in Waynesboro, where he currently lives with his wife Sarah Beth, and their three children, Malakai, Kylian, and Jace. Dr. Washington received his M.Div. in Homiletics from Liberty University before acquiring his Th.M. in Theological Studies and his Ph.D. in Theological Studies from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.

When not preparing for a sermon or engaging with the church body, Dr. Washington enjoys watching basketball and soccer, especially the Los Angeles Lakers and Arsenal. He also serves as a theology professor at various institutions and as a soccer coach in the community.

Worship Leader
Andrew Porter
First Baptist Church, Woodbridge

“You can’t have the sanctification of man without the glorification of God.”  (Doxology, 1984)
This quote has captured Andrew from his time in college.  He has a passion for the Body of Christ to encounter and behold the glory of Jesus!  As a worship leader and pastor for the past 20 years, it has always been his desire to see the people of God worship through the Word of God and to use the gift of music to engage the Body of Christ in corporate worship.

Andrew has been married for almost 15 years and has two amazing kids.  In his free time he loves being the roadie for his son’s garage band, spending time with friends and family, trying new places to eat, helping coach ice hockey, and awaiting the day when I will finally be able to own a motorcycle and travel across the country on it!

FAQs

What will accommodations be like?

Everyone attending will be staying in cabins, with separate cabins for guys and girls. Each cabin can accommodate up to 12 people. You’ll be grouped with others from your church, or possibly paired with another church group. Bathrooms and showerhouses are located nearby for easy access.

What type of activities are available to do at the retreat?

There will be a variety of fun activities throughout the weekend, giving everyone a chance to join in and connect. Here’s what to expect:

  • Night Activities – After the evening sessions on Friday and Saturday, join us for outdoor field games, campfires, and other laid-back nighttime fun.

  • Group Activities – On Saturday morning after the session, we’ll dive into some team-building activities designed to bring groups closer together.

  • Rec Activities – During free time on Saturday, you’ll have access to a range of recreational options like the high ropes course, zipline, paintball, archery tag, escape room, and more.

What do I do if myself or someone in my group has food allergies or a medical condition restricting their physical activity?

Watermarks is happy to accommodate common food allergies—including gluten, dairy, egg, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, and shellfish—and also offers vegetarian and vegan meal options. If you have any allergy, please be sure to include them in your registration so the camp can plan ahead.

If you have a medical condition or physical limitations, let us know in your registration as well so we can make sure you’re comfortably and safely accommodated throughout the weekend.
