Today we’re going to pray our way to Boston and learn about Faith Garland, one of our missionaries there.
Our church supports Faith through our Cooperative Program. Now, Faith works with the Send Relief Ministry Center in Boston.
That’s a ministry of our North American Mission Board which helps our churches minister to the homeless, provides food and other help to refugees and needy people.
Faith directs the center’s Beloved Initiative that fights human trafficking. Boston is a regional hub for trafficking. It’s only a 10-minute walk from the ministry center to a place where women are openly sold! You can fill in the blanks on what happens to them.
Faith makes friends with these vulnerable women and finds them jobs so they live without abuse. She constantly shares the love of Jesus, the only way this modern slavery can be finally defeated. She also teaches women how to avoid and fight trafficking in their communities.
This ministry is dangerous. It takes Faith and her team into dark places.
Let’s pray for Faith now. Let’s ask God to keep her safe in those dark places as she takes the light of Christ to those who need Him most!
