Register your church to host a training.
We are so excited that you are interested in hosting a training for your church members! Our Disaster Relief ministry is committed to bringing help, healing, and hope to those affected by natural disaster.
There are two options for a local church to host a Disaster Relief Training:
- Video based training
- Training with a live credentialed instructor
To host a training, please follow these steps:
- Register your church to host a training by clicking here. Once registration is complete, instructions will be sent to the church’s point of contact (POC). The POC is responsible for communication with Disaster Relief staff.
- Each participant must register and pay for the training through a link provided to the church by SBCV DR. Churches may opt to pay for training for their members. A coupon code will be provided.
- For video based training, videos may be watched in one session or broken up over multiple session (such as one hour per week for three weeks). The pastor or the POC may facilitate the training or designate someone to facilitate. The facilitator is responsible for starting on time with a welcome and prayer, starting the training videos, printing extra manuals, scheduling breaks, and ending on time. The facilitator is also responsible for attendance records.
- Live instruction with a DR credentialed trainer, must take place in one session.
– The host church or churches will pay $250 to cover travel expenses such as mileage reimbursement, food, and hotel for the DR Trainer.
– If attendance exceeds 15, SBCV will cover all costs associated with the trainer.
– It is suggested that the host church provide hospitality for attendees (beverages, snacks, etc.).
– Lunch will be provided by SBCV. - Once complete, the POC should send an email to disasterrelief@sbcv.org confirming all participants have completed the training.
- Each participant is required to complete a waiver and background screening to complete the credential process. After the waiver and background screening have been submitted online, a Disaster Relief ID badge, t-shirt, and hat will be mailed to each individual or the host church.
NOTE: The pastor does NOT have to attend training but may assign the role of facilitator to anyone of his choosing.
