Emphasis: The Associate Pastor of Family & Youth is responsible for leading this ministry in alignment with the current church-wide vision. While the focus of his ministry will be children, students, and their families, he will also be a minister of the congregation-at-large. He shall perform his duties in accordance with the teachings of God’s Word and the Baptist Faith and Message 2000. He will be under the direct supervision of the Senior Pastor, as well as church leadership.
Responsibilities: The primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following.
Plan to oversee the family ministry of the church. This includes children of all ages, youth, and their parents. Some of the key aspects of this responsibility are to choose curriculums, plan events, camp, etc.
Keep in contact with these families and build relationships.
Teach the Youth Sunday School, as well as oversee the volunteers of the children's ministry.
Provide opportunities for young people to serve in the church/community and encourage them to do so.
Provide spiritual guidance and resources to children, youth, and their families.
Recruit, train, and oversee volunteers in these various departments.
Maintain open communication with the Senior Pastor, church leadership, families, and members of the congregation.
Assist as the Senior Pastor directs (events, planning, visitations, social media, pulpit supply, etc.).
Work with Senior Pastor and Sunday School Director to make an emphasis on discipleship.
Other duties and responsibilities as determined by the Senior Pastor and church leadership.
