Ministry Description
The Facilities Manager will oversee the management and operations of all the physical facilities of the church. Provide oversight and responsibility for the building, equipment, general daily security, housekeeping not performed by outside contractor, ensuring the facilities are fully operational, safe, clean and neat, and prepared for services and ministry activities. Oversee and perform maintenance/repairs for the church building, equipment (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical that do not require a licensed professional) and property, or act as church representative with outside contractors and inspectors coming onto the property or into the building.
Ministry Requirements
Qualifications:
• Knowledge of the practices, methods, and equipment utilized in facility maintenance, construction, and repair activities not requiring a licensed professional
• Basic knowledge of security practices related to facility management
• Knowledge of safety practices and applicable regulations, specifically OSHA regulations
• Capable of coordinating multiple tasks and adjusting to changing priorities and meeting deadlines
• Demonstrate a strong work ethic and take initiative
• General working knowledge of computer software (online supply ordering, Excel)
• Understanding of and alignment with the core values, mission, and vision of the church
Responsibilities:
• Prepare worship center, classrooms, and meeting rooms in advance of weekly scheduled events, setting thermostats. (Weekly cleaning and sanitation currently provided by outside contractor.)
• Perform general maintenance, including changing light bulbs, sweeping outside entrances, removing spider webs, etc. from outside entrances.
• Ensure proper setup and take-down for other events (baptism, communion, fellowships, funerals/memorial services) according to the requirements requested in the event reservation system. This includes but is not limited to setting up the requested number of tables and chairs in the desired configuration. Custodial support for weddings will be handled on a separate fee-based arrangement.
• Monitor building to ensure all battery operated appliances/sensors are working properly. Replace batteries when necessary. Notify Family Minister of any non-working fixtures that require attention.
• Order cleaning and janitorial supplies and maintain a working inventory.
• Work with appropriate agencies to ensure that building is safe and meets current code requirements. Be available for required inspections when scheduled.
• Activate approved procedures for inclement weather conditions, as needed.
Compensation
$15/hour for 20 hours/week
