Western Heights Baptist Church is seeking a qualified candidate for a position that seeks to combine our current ministry assistant position (25 hours per week in the office, M-F 9:30-3:00), with a long term, training-focused internship directed at current seminary students (online or hybrid) who are called to pastoral ministry. The internship portion of this position will require attendance of regular worship services and discipleship services (Sunday and Wednesday), as well as special events that are deemed vital to training by the pastoral staff.
The goal of this position is to train a future pastor for practical, day-to-day ministry, administration, and pastoral development, alongside their seminary education. WHBC wants to help train and send pastors out with experience in boots-on-the-ground ministry, and is looking for a student who is desiring this experience and training as they complete their seminary education. This position will be flexible for the needed schedule of a seminary student, in order for both the position’s responsibilities as well as the student’s coursework to be accomplished on a week-to-week basis.
This position will be a paid position, with exact pay TBD, commensurate to the duties and expectations of the position. WHBC is seeking someone who will be prepared to hold this position for more than a calendar year, but who will be desiring to be sent out to the pastoral ministry in a total of 2-4 years.
Seeking someone with a call to pastoral ministry who is actively working towards that goal.
