Today, let’s turn our attention to Canada and, specifically, to the city of Calgary that sits just east of the Rocky Mountains. Calgary has a dramatic skyline of tall buildings, yet the city also puts on one of the world’s largest rodeos each year. Calgary is also a mission field: About 1.4 million people live here and only about 70,000 of them say they know Jesus.
That’s why our church is happy to be helping support Airen and Obaidiku Aimievbo, who have planted The Impact Church. From Nigeria, Africa, Airen grew up in a Christian home there and felt called to serve as a missionary in Canada. He attended the Canadian Baptist Theological Seminary in Alberta after he arrived.
In 2020, he began making first contacts and launched the new church in 2021. Impact Church is located east of the Calgary airport where people from many other lands have settled. Few are Christian. Members visit door-to-door around the area and hand out tracts and invitations to visit the new church. They enlisted volunteers to help them hold a soccer camp for kids. Our church is helping support Airen, his wife and this new church through our Cooperative Program giving. Let’s pray for them now and ask God to grow the church.
