Today we’re going to pray for Woongje and Injoo Chun. They are ethnic Koreans who are our missionaries in Duluth, Ga.
Now, Duluth is in Gwinnett County, northeast of Atlanta. Why would we have Korean-speaking missionaries there?
It’s because nearly a third of all Koreans in Georgia live there — more than 100,000 first- and second-generation Koreans. Korea-themed restaurants, retail shops, and markets are prominent here. And we want all those Koreans to hear the gospel in their own language so they can respond.
Woongje is pastor of Duluth Korean Baptist Church in Duluth. To engage those Koreans with the good news, he leads an evangelism team to the Korean market every Tuesday and Thursday. Many young Koreans hear and respond to the gospel each week during these efforts.
Through our church’s Cooperative Program giving, our church is helping support the ministry of Woongje and Injoo as they serve there in Duluth.
Let’s pray that God will open the hearts of Koreans in Duluth to the love of Jesus. Let’s also ask God to provide for the physical and spiritual needs of the Chun family so they can continue to live on-mission in Duluth.
