Labeled as one of the worst storms on record to hit the United States, Hurricane Ida left a mess in Louisiana and Mississippi. In addition to the flooding and wind damages, more than one million homes and businesses are without power for the foreseeable future.
Our SBCV Disaster Relief teams are working with national relief directors to find out how we can best help. While assessments continue, we know hundreds of thousands of people need immediate shelter, travel into disaster areas will be difficult, and feeding kitchens and supplies are ready to be positioned.
At this time, we have a team preparing to leave soon to serve in Louisiana.
