OK, pull on a jacket because today we’re going to pray for two of our missionaries in Anchorage, Ala.
They are Philip and Andi Coleman, who moved from Kentucky to Alaska. They planted a new church in Anchorage, which of course had no building at first. An older church in town had a building but had few members left. So the two churches combined into one stronger and growing congregation called True North Church.
Now the Colemans have a special calling to help struggling churches get re-energized or replanted so that the resulting church will be a strong witness for Christ.
We know Alaska is a beautiful place but has a challenging climate. The Colemans say the spiritual climate is challenging as well. They have started a program to teach new church planters coming to Alaska how to manage the state’s unique culture and equally unique climate.
Even way up there in Alaska, through the Cooperative Program, our church is supporting Philip and Andi as they plant churches and help others do so. Let’s ask God to bless their ministry so many will come to Christ.
